We were only in Dubai for 36 hours, but it was a really nice treat for us, as we stayed in an expensive resort where we had our own butler. Our room was amazing and the service was fantastic.
We made the most of our short time in Dubai by going on an organised bus tour around the whole city, where we saw all of the construction going on, the indoor snow field, man made surf / wave machine, plus every other toy / service that you can possibly want to spend your money on. There is plenty of money being made in Dubai, and they are always coming up with the newest, biggest, or fastest things to keep the 80% of ex-pats busy spending their tax free income.
The only real negatives were the heat and the traffic. With petrol costing a fraction of the price for water, the cars being 30% cheaper, and the locals having more money than they know what to do with, people are buying cars like there is no tomorow - meaning that the roads are jamed packed 24 hours a day.
We spent the remainder of the time having massages, thai food, shopping and chilling back keeping our butler busy.
