Flights over were hard work. We boarded the Dubai flight 50 minutes before take off but then sat there for an extra hour as the ground staff tried to find 2 Suitcases. Total backside time was about 9 hours. Flight to Colombo wasn't too bad but we arrived feeling knackered. Got into airport looking for a man with a card reading Gisbourne, walked up and down a few times then Bern spotted a young bloke with a little piece of paper saying Mr Charles!
Off to Colombo, should only take 40 mins - We arrived 2 hours later!
Went out and had a Thai - Not the best
Colombo isn't very interesting and not a pub in sight, settled for A Ginger beer flavored tea!
Rest of trip was planned between buses and trains, lady at the digs says 'Not a good idea' After going past the bus station we wholehearted agree! Absolute chaos and not a word of English. I'll ring Ravvi up she says you can talk to him
Ravv pretends to be a 'Tourist driver' In actual fact I think he is a Guardian angel and he's ours for the next 9 nights and ten days.
We then travelled to Galle and checked into our own little apartment, think we stayed around 4 mins - Bern says 'Can't stay here it smells'
Ravvi takes us to one of his hotels right next to the beach, it was tremendous
Next day we are up at 5am! To go whale watching, apparently they like to get up early. Saw glimpses of killer whales and then spent another 3 hours watching Bern throw up, apparently the blue whales were absolutely ! Now in Tissamaharama in a new hotel, having a chill day- Life us good.
