We have spent the last 2 days in Kanpur. Our 6 hour afternoon train journey turned into a 5 hour delay waiting at Agra train station, as the arrival time kept getting put back little by little. Due to this we had missed our 'slots' on the train route so had many further delays making us just over 7 hours late, so our free pick up was not there as it was nearly 1am! We have been in Udaipur for the last 6 days and I think this is probably my favourite place in Rajesthan, as it has a bit of everything. The bus journey here was ok. There was no air con and no toilet, but we did get a private double cubicle. We have been in Jaisalmer, the 'Golden City' for the last 5 days. It's quite a small and touristy place, but has a nice relaxed feel to it. When we left our place in Jodhpur, the old lady (I presume mother/grandmother) who lived downstairs gave me a ring as a present. Spent the last couple of days in Jodhpur (the blue city). It is a great city with a friendly vibe. We were recommended a place to stay (Hotel Sarvar) by our previous host and it is really close to the fort and the clocktower where the main market is, so perfect. It is also cheap, so even better!
