After leaving France I took the 8.6 km tunnel through the Pyrenees mountains to Zaragoza, Spain where I spent a couple of days. Then I took the high speed train to Malaga in the south, a regional train to Alora, then a drive into the hills on a dirt road which is actually the river bed (which becomes impassable in the spring when it rains).
The HelpX Host has taken lots of photos of insects, so I spent the week learning the details of Picasa (a photo editing and management tool), setting up a process for uploading to keep them organized, and steps to organize all existing photos. Yes, I spent the week doing IT! But it was actually quite fun to have the time to learn the details of a tool rather than learning just enough to accomplish the immediate task.
I also picked almonds (which we then cracked with two rocks) and figs, took hikes in the hills, watched the goat herder move his goats up and down the hills every day, and listened to the roosters at the next farm crow all day long.
