Got back yesterday from a 5 day trip, 3 days were spent walking a total of 55 km, which were long days and a stenuous hike with lots of up and down, wading across freezing cold rivers (one river was up to our thighs). Shouldn´t come as a surprise, but Iceland is not exactly warm. The average summer high (yes, the HIGH tempurature of the day) in June is 13 C, not like July when the average high will reach a sweltering 14 degrees C. Despite this, the weather has actually been quite nice, we had one sunny day and the rest have been cloudy with occasional light rain. Busy finishing up at work, packing, preparing everything I will need and saying goodbye to everyone. Tomorrow is my last day at work, then 4 short days later, on Monday, I fly to Iceland. Once I get there, I can relax.
