Whew! I've caught the blog up. The last few weeks has been really busy with family and the reunion, but now I'm taking some downtime in Rotterdam to relax and catch up on a bunch of things including this blog (since I've missed 6 countries and several weeks!).
I've enjoyed the neat architecture - since Rotterdam was bombed a lot during the war they had the "opportunity" to rebuild much of the old part of the city, which they did using very interesting architecture. The yellow cube house in the photos is actually the hostel I'm staying in.
I've also been outside the city to see the windmills. You can go into one and see the huge wooden gears working. The speed that the arms go around is amazing, you would not want to be hit by them.
Fyi, this blog has a feature where I can add your email to the contact list and then when I make an update you will get an email notification. Anyone who isn't recieving email notifications but would like to (since the updates are very sporadic!), please send me an email ([email protected]). Thanks.

Dianne Zackowski Thanks for sharing the pictures! You have covered a lot of ground in a few short weeks. Did you totally wear out Ron before he headed home? I heard about the heat wave in London and wondered if you were there at that time. I can't imagine that heat in a dense population of people! You missed the chaos in Calgary with the flooding. Did it impact Ron's job at all? Enjoy your down time! Where are you headed after this? Take care. Dianne Z
