We exited a very busy Logrono in the wind and rain, the trail followed the highway. Stopped at cafe on lake for tea and cafe con leche, sun came out but still windy. Met up with three men from Belgium who walk a section of the Camino each year for 9 days, they've known each other for 60 years. (Sounds like a Mancation to me). We saw a sign that said we have 576K to go to reach Santiago that means we have done 224K to date.

Left the wonderful hotel this morning and started a steep decent followed by a steep ascent, meet a resourceful local and his dog Gulliver who were looking for donations from pilgrims. Logrono is a large bustling city, checked into our modern hotel and promptly slept for two hours. Explored the town and had dinner at restaurant filled with local old men playing cards and watching bull fights. Returned to hotel, tried watching Spanish TV and fell asleep. Distance...

Trail very steep in spots today, weather is windy. Staying at the Palicio de Pujadas, a lovely hotel in a 16th century building. Tina enjoyed the tub and we sent our clothes out to be laundered. Tina had staples and stiches removed at local clinic and she is recovering nicely. Had a delicious lunch back at the hotel and a little siesta. Toured the town, visited the church, bought some new sandals and ended the day having drinks with Pam and Jim from San Diego USA...

Thunder and lightning last night, breakfast nothing to write home about, black clouds on the horizon, walked with Kazim from Belgium, he is doing his second Camino and is a very nice young man. First to check in at Alberque la Pata, explored the village and visited a lovely old octagonal church where a fellow pilgrim sang to check out the acoustics, they were wonderful. Had dinner with Otto from Germany, he is a former concert musician who likes to walk up to 50K...

Last ones to leave the Alberque this morning, met a lovely woman from Barcelona who was an exiled Cuban, walked through a landscape filled with vinyards and olive trees, heard a cuckoo bird. Had a lovely seafood lunch when we arrived in Los Arcos. Stayed in an attic room at the Pension Mavi. After a short siesta we enjoyed sunshine and sangria with fellow pilgrims. Distance 12K
