Well it's been rather wet today. The rain came and went, but at least the cold wind allowed us to dry off in between showers! And whose idea was it to take summer gloves ... However in spite of the weather, all has gone according to plan. We managed to get an early crossing on the Eurotunnel and made it to Chalons easily and in good time - and the only time we got really wet was when we stopped for petrol. The Hotel Ibis is a bit basic, but serves good champagne, though unfortunately not in half bottles. We're now watching the Champions League final with French commentary which just proves that Glenn knows how to show a girl a good time on her honeymoon! We've just been looking at the distance we're travelling tomorrow to get to Chamonix and it's going to be 388km, compared to about 652km today, so hopefully we can take it easy and meander our way towards the Alps.
We haven't taken many photos today as one stretch of motorway looks very much like another, but please enjoy Glenn in the Eurotunnel and the hotel room, and me getting bored waiting for Glenn to finish on the phone so we could go out. Promise to upload some more exciting photos tomorrow!
