Nyt vihdoin taas mahdollisuus kirjoittaa! Lähdimme Mazagonista hyvillä mielin kohti uusia seikkailuja, neljä viikkoa oli juuri sopiva aika rentoutua ja levätä. Saavuimme Tarifan leirintäalueelle suoraan rannan äärellä, Afrikka suoraan vastapäätä. Kelit olivat koko 8 päivää loistavat, 16-20 ja aurinkoista ja mukavia ajoteitä. Teimme moottoripyörä matkan Gibraltariin - sinne tosin suurin osa matkasta oli vilkkaasti liikennöityä moottoritietä ja viitoitus huono, ei mitenkään mukavaa! Saavuimme Gibraltariin ja ajelimme vuorta ristiin rastiin mutta jätimme apinat katsomatta, ovat niin röyhkeitä että pyörien kanssa voi tulla hankaluuksia. Paikka ei tehnyt järin suurta vaikutusta, nuhjuinen ja sekava ja lopuksi vielä samaa kautta takaisin. Lyhyempiä päiväretkiä teimme monta, hienoja loivia ja kiemurtelevia vuoristoteitä pitkin mutta varovainen sai olla, varoituksia lehmistä oli paljon mutta saattoi vastaan myös tulla vuohi tai hevonen! Olimme ihmetelleet mistä kaikki ibericokinkku tulee kun sikaloita ei ole missään kunnes tajusimme että siellähän ne laiduntavat niityillä ja vuorenrinteillä, olimme luulleet niitä lampaiksi! Ei ihme että possu maistuu täällä niin hyvältä, aivan eri kuin meidän sisäsikalapossut, ei voi uskoa että kyseessä saman eläimen liha. Eräällä ajelulla tie päättyi Boloniaan josta löytyi valtavan roomalaisen yhdyskunnan rauniot ja kaivannot ja työt jatkuu- hieno ja yllättävä paikka! Maasudulla kevätkukat kukkivat kauniisti, suurinta osaa lajikkeista en toki tunnistanut. Kävimme myös yhden päivän järjestetyllä matkalla Tangierissa, kiertelimme ensin kolme tuntia bussilla, lounas ja sen jälkeen kolmen tunnin kiertokävely. Retki oli mielenkiintoinen mutta emme välttämättä halua sinne uudelleen- muualla Marokossa olisi mielenkiintoisempaa käydä. Leirintäalueella melkein adoptoimme kissan, ihan Riiviön oloinen ja näköinen - Ari heltyi ja osti kissanherkkuja.Kissa jäi hyvään hoitoon, ranskalaispariskunta syötti sille juustoa kun lähdimme!

Finally a chance to update blog!

We left Mazagon feeling good, four weeks was just what we needed, resting,relaxing and driving and now we feel getting into new adventures again.

We arrived in Tarifa campsite by the beach opposite Africa, and had nice 8 sunny and warm days, 16-20, and a lot of nice roads to drive. We made a trip to Gibraltar with the motos, unfortunately it was along a very busy and badly marked motorway almost the whole way, which really was not that nice..

We arrived in Gibraltar, road along small roads in the mountain but did not go all the way to the top, the monkeys are rather aggressive and we did not feel like driving among them with the motos.We were not very impressed by the place, it was rather untidy and messy, we did not spend very many hours there and then we of course had to drive back the same way we came..

We made many shorter daytrips in the area and the mountains around, but you had to be very careful, a lot of sign warned about cows- but we saw horses and goats as well on the road- some were behind the fences, some outside! We had earlier wondered where all the ibericon porks come from but then we discovered that a lot of the sheep were in fact pigs, happily on the hillsides or in the valleys - no wonder the meat is so different to what we are used to in Finland, where the pigs live in tiny boxes,unable to turn and inside all the time- they sure are not happy pigs!

One of our trip ended in Bolonia where we saw a big ancient roman village , or the ruins left of it, the works continue . It was a nice surprise and very interesting.

The hills and valleys are in full bloom with a lot of different springflowers, but did not recognize more than a few species- but it looked lovely.

We also made an arranged oneday trip to Tangier, first by ferry then by bus for a three-hour sightseeing, after that a typical moroccon style lunch and 3 hours walking in the ols town. It was interesting and nice to see but I would probably choose another place if I ever visit Morocko again, once was enough here.

At the campsite we almost adopted a cat looking and behaving just like mine, Ari could not resist, he had to by some cat threats! We left the cat in good hand, we saw a french couple feeding her with cheese when we left!
