Arrived into KK very early on Wednesday morning after a 10 hour night bus from Semporna... in retrospect a flight would have been better! Highlights of the journey: the conductor lady having a T Shirt with "Bum Sports" emblazoned on it and the family sitting in front of us being kicked off the bus at a police checkpoint for not having ID. After an aborted attempt to go to Gunung Mulu (plane from Kuching to Mulu was diverted to Miri due to poor viability at Mulu) we decided sitting in Miri airport watiing for a replacement flight (that wasn't happening that day) that we would instead get a flight (or rather 2 flights as we had to go via KK) to Tawau, Sabah and go diving. 24 hours in Kuching, cat city (not that I actually saw many cats...) The 10 hour night bus from Pontianak, Kalimantan to Kuching was fairly uneventful, even the border crossing at 5am! We were befriended by an elderly man from Kuching who had been visiting his wife's family in Indonesia and who helped with translation/immigration issues! Just got back from an incredible 3 days and 2 nights in Tanjung Puting national park, Kalimantan, Indonesia. Lots and lots of orangutans, probiscus monkeys, longtail monkeys... I am on a terrible computer in an incredibly noisy internet cafe with lots of adolescent boys playing computer games and smoking while mangy kittens are crawling around my feet, so I will update this blog and add photos (I took a lot!) soon! After a crazy day of travelling - from Hua Hin (7 of us in a minibus with the most random snacks we could find from the 7-11 to keep us sustained (pickiled mango anyone?)) we arrived in Bangkok for MASSIVE MONDAY!
