Left campsite travelled back along mountain roads like Italian Job ! To Tai Tapu then on to Lincoln, one long street few shops , home of Lincoln University. Heading out of town very straight roads ,little traffic been travelling for about an hour. Open farming countryside, all the sprinklers are working watering the land. Back onto the M1 ,

Camper Van in situ Akaroa Peninsula dad doing his sudoku again !!!

From Hanmer Springs headed back towards Christchurch, weaving back thro the outskirts of the city we headed due west for the stunning peninsula of Akaroa. A wildlife sanctuary on the side of a mountain. Approached via a winding steep hillside up one side and down the other. Picture is of the scene from the top of the hill down to Akaroa.

Last night had a lovely Italian meal, sorry Bev , no Italian waiters !! Today we woke after some sleep!! First night in the camper, found a site near the whale station ,booked to go out on the 4.30 expedition . Plan to stay for another night, after finally fitting all our stuff into the cupboards etc. This morning did a load of washing by hand and pegged out on the communal lines to dry.
