We are in Gent. We planned to be in Holland by now, but just after we set off this morning George had a run-in with a bollard. George escaped uninjured (he claims he performed a front sumasault landing on his feet, like a persian cat...) The banter bike crumpled on impact and we fear is irrepairable. As it is a national holiday today, all shops are shut, so we have had an enforced rest day and plan to visit it the best bike shop in town bright and early tomorrow morning to get a replacement.
