Today was the day we were on the move again and heading to Santa Monica for a bit of beach life.
Mary and I had checked out the bus route and figured it would take two busses to get there. It was a lot further then we had thought and took us 90 minutes to get to the hostel. It was hardly worth Mary coming over as she had to then leave Santa Monica by 2.30 to head back to Hollywood to catch her bus to San Diego.
Bobbi wasn't feeling well so decided to have a lie down whilst Mary and I took a walk along the beach broad walk towards Venice beach. We stopped off at the pier but as it was overcast our photos didn't do the views justice.
Our hostel - Hosteling International was on second street one block from Third Street Promenade where you have your choice among the many restaurants, movie theaters, shops, bookstores, and bars. Add street performers, musicians, dancers and other acts, and you are in for an very entertaining time. Third Street Promenade is also Santa Monica's most popular shopping place and would be the ideal place to find a dress to take with us to Vegas.
That evening we met up with Sara and Bronwen (the Welsh girls we had met in New Zealand) for dinner. The positions were massive and we could not finish it all. It was
Lovely to catch up with the girls and hear all about their Fiji adventure and what they had planned for the West coast.
