View from the room window. Caught the Eurostar from St. Pancreas railway station to Paris Gare du Nord. Short taxi ride to the Hotel Montpensier with its tiny one person lift. The Louvre turns to out be only 5 minutes walk away. There is something to be said for bookings.com & Tripadvisor. Walk along the ordered garden ways and the Seinne river.

London BigBus, hop-on hopoff type scenario. Tower Bridge, the Tower, London Eye, National Gallery, Tate Modern, Selfriges, Victoria & Albert. Climbed St. Paul's - some 450 odd steps - but great view of London. Went to Shakespeare's Globe theatre & saw Titus and Andronicus. Very bloody & violent play. One groundling was overwhelmed by it all & hit the deck.

The very fast train from Lancaster to London makes our trains look pretty poor in comparison. To the London House Hotel, were we both arrived within 5 minutes of each other. Nice hotel. Off seeing the sights, walking Hyde Park, getting an Oyster card and negotiating the Underground.

Pub meals in the UK. Certainly have never seen a tower of black pudding on a menu before. Fish and chips. Lancaster pie night meal. Fish finger sandwich and toast.

The Lakes District day trip. A wonderful trip through high and wild country. It reminds me of scenery out of a McBeth movie - you almost expect a wild Scotsman to jump out at any stage. We arrived past the peak at the Pub for a short break before heading down through even more incredibly narrow and windy roads. Brian is a wonder at there navigation. Had to stop and photograph the black faced sheep, as apparently they are a favorite of someone's.
