No sleep because of squeaky bed. Up early for Li river cruise. Meet two medics on elective and antie the Norwegian. Cruise 42£ and not good, packed with Chinese tourists and food terrible! Dropped In Yangzhou- mountains nice but town terrible with tourist shops everywhere- kill time before return home for indian (not great)

Train journey not as bad as anticipated but dirty and no real food. Get to Guilin late so book activities and eat next door to hostel before bed as early start for Li river cruise.

Woke up early and got 8 hour train to Kunming from Lijiang. Grubby. Ate too much long life food. Got to Kunming which was crazy busy and security ridiculous due to terrorist attack last year. Hardly any food at station. Ate chips and ice cream- feel so unhealthy! Get worst sleeper yet! They don't wash the sheets and it's small and dirty. Commence 23 hour train ride to Guilin.

Woke up in colour of wind hostel on dali. Get ready, get to waffles shop and eat. Really wanted to go to bakery 88 but bridge took too long getting ready. Bus to Lijiang with Shona 3rd. Not feeling to great, check into Orchid land inn in old town- so cute! Free upgrade to little 2 bed room, trek to Ns kitchen for food- good but IbS later. Bet nights sleep in forever!

Wake up late, get a bite saying call ta pung. Had been waiting for 4 hours since 6am. Get ready and head to 3 pagodas, Laura has sinusitis and I have urti so both miserable but pagodas amazing! Over 1500 years on built in Ming dynasty and survived lots of earth quakes! Head back to old own via tuk tuk and have a wander. Then back to hostel to collect TA Pung for tea.
