Arriving in Vientine was a nightmare and yet songcran continued for the next few days and we were not dry for a moment of it!! Going in a tuk tuk was the worst idea as mass groups on the streets would stop you and pummel you with water flower and dye....... some of my clothes are very rewined!! On our first day there some of us went down to the celebration area to eat lunch in a local festival cafe by the dried up river which now looks like a dessert before we headed off to see the main temple/monument of loas!! That evening sarah arrived and we all went out to dinner and heard her storys of k tours adventures tubeing for a last day which were slightly worrying!! The following day we spent relaxin and having a final explore before we headed off on our 25hr bus trip to hanoi in vietnam!! The streets had completely changed from the chaos of the past 2 days of songcran!! litterally over night was bizarre!!

Sarah and I had the grueling 25hr trip on the bus it wasn't the most comfortable of busses as it was the local bus and we met some rather interesting characters on the way both falang and local!! We had blaring loas/vietnamese karioke most of the journey and the driver even stopped off for a nap in a room whilst we all had to stay on the bus at about 2am for a good 4-5 hours which made the journey even longer!! We crossed the border early morning which was quite a stressfull experience as everyone pushed and shoved to get to passport controll through health and customs!! The scenery though was beautiful and woth the long trip!!

On arriving there we met with issy and martha after being ripped of by our taxi man and went out to dinner!! We had a rather interesting room in the hotel which appeared to be in the owners house where a number of people walked through during the night??! Today we went to the vietnames museam of ethnicity as we thought we should do a little bit of culture whilst being here and then visited a 3 story vietnamese local market which was full of very strange things and then the night market this evening after going to a quirky resturant where all the seats where cyclos!! Tomorrow we are off to halong bay for a 3 day trip before returning here.....
