Hi to everyone, I must say we are really missing our friends, family and pets. Anyway, Mauritus was a beautiful volcanic island of about 1 million people. We were only there for one day, Sunday the the 27 of February. We took an all day tour of the island. It was very green with rugged rock outcroppings. It was interesting. but we had very little interaction with the people and the stores weren't open. We did have a wonderful lunch at a nice restaurant with a wonderful view. We were also in a van with some facility so we got to know some of them a little better.
On the ship, the Life Long Learners decided to make an effort to get to know the facility better, so we took a donation and had a cocktail party. It was very successful and I think most of the facility came. In all there were 130 people there. It seemed to be very appreciated, so we may try it again or hopefully they may return the action.
Unfortunately we have had to evacuate students at almost every port due to illnesses that could not be treated on the ship. As you could guess, there are a lot of rumors on the ship.
Well I hope to hear from some of you as I said we miss you.
Love, Clarice and Gary

Mary Jo Love this blog and hearing about your adventures....you are amazing!! Hope you are home on April 13 to go to the CVHS women's lunch at Linda Shaw's.....be safe!! Love you....MJ
Elaine Sounds amazing.
Tina Boy, this island sounds great even thought you were there only a day. That is really bad news on the kids that had to leave, can they return if they get better? I'm glad that things are working better with the facility...cocktails always make things a bit smoother social! Can't wait to hear about the next stop. You and Gary take good care of yourselves and don't get sick.
Izzy WOW, everything sounds so interesting and fun! Thank you for keeping us informed. Love and hugs to you both!
Mary Jane Hubbard Hi Gary and Clarice, We are heading to the beach with Mission Bells tomorrow and will miss having you there but know you are having such a great experience and fun where you are. Take care! Mary Jane and Patrick
