Love love loved Hoi An! Its so cute and pretty and also tailor-made heaven!
Its got so much character, tiny old buildings, mainly painted yellow. Cute little streets. So many lovely lanterns everywhere. Arrived at 6am, found a nice but still fairly cheap hotel but couldn't check in until 11 so we went off in search of breakfast... had a walk along the river where two little old ladies were sitting in a boat smiling for the cameras with thier traditional vietnamese hats on, of course they wanted some money for thier picture but wheres the harm in that. We soon found the streets that are lined with cloth and shoe shops! Every girls dream basically! Suits to silk dresses and leather sandals to boots! Before we had even checked in i had ordered some brown leather sandals and Lucy a lovely wool coat (that she sent straight home, no room!) Scarf city too, so many lovely things! We almost had to escape before we spent our entire budgets! My sandals cost me $25 which is about 17 pounds, not bad for a perfect fit! They are so comfy and soft, cant wait to wear them! All we did that day was marvel at everything! The next day we went to pick up our purchases, mine were too big so had to be altered but Lucys coat was a perfect fit so we headed to the post office to get it back to Essex! We hired some bicycles for the afternoon, cycled round the tiny streets, still eyeing up all the nice dresses! We cycled the 4km out to the beach, lovely beach but it wasnt the weather for it, really windy and actually quite cold- not had sun really since Nha Trang but its a nice change not to be hot and sweaty! Hoodies and trousers came out the backpacks! Picked my sandals up in the evening, perfect fit now!
Left in the morning for Hanoi.
