Last day in Kyoto area, and it went well. Much better than yesterday. Got an earlier start. Prontos for breakfast, just across the bridge, then caught the subway in to Kyoto station. Used our JR rail passes to get to Arashiyama. We thought the scenic rail train was not operating on Wednesdays, but it was today, so we got straight on the 10.07am train and took a retunr trip to Kameoki. A bit of a "bitty" day today. Late start then walked to Imperial palace for the beginning of Jidai Matsuri procession. Not bad...got a few good photos. Got lost on the way back. Ended up not doing too much in the afternoon. More plans for tomorrow.

A quick update on the trip so far. We left Gold Coast a little behind schedule as the pilot wanted the engineers to check something out before take-off. Always good to see caution here. Arrived Kanto airport 30 mins late, found JR office and swapped our Rail Pass order for the real thing.
