Australia, the place i have been looking forward to the most!! the land of Golden Beaches, cold beers and the BBQ. and English speaking people. ahh bliss!
Fisrt stop Perth on the West Coast. now some interesting facts about Western Australia are that it has about 1.5million people, 25% of the people were not born in Australia!! (sound familiar!!!) and you can fit the countrys of Germany, the UK and Japan inside its borders!! in other words its f**king big!! With this in mind i thought it best to go to Perth as all that size is a bit daunting!!
First impressions were a bit indifferent. I was interigated by the immigration with 100 questions about why i was there, where i was staying, what colour my toothbrush was.. you know the deal.. but it was stranger that the guy asking me was a scouser!! wierd!! i should have broken into verse of 'walk on' and i reckon id have sailed through but i really wanted him to ask me if i had a criminal record so i could use my ready made reply of 'i didnt realise it was still compulsory here!' but alas he didnt ask!!
First night in Perth i was fortunate to stay with an ex pat who used to work at BMW in Swindon and imigrated. that was an eye opener. A 4 bedroom 1 story house with an 'outhouse' or shed as we'd call it that had a kitchin, bathroom, tv room and a bedroom in!! thats how big it was!! oh and it was nestled next to his heated swimming pool!!! amazing! i guess once you see something like that you think that could be me!!
I stayed in cottesloe for the first 2 weeks which is a seaside suburb of Perth. i shared an appartment with Jo, Helen and Shippy her fella who came out. its a cracking place Cottesloe with a nice beach teeming with teenagers on there summer holidays and 2 very big bars which i called home!!
