So from the Grand Canyon to 2 more National Parks....first to Zion, which is gorgeous, like a red rock sandstone canyon but with luscious green trees growing through the valley...only problem is it's extremely touristy. Also really hot, 95 degrees F. Did go up this quite precarious walk though giving an amazing view of the whole park- called Angels Landing. I did also have a dice with death: On the way down this trail I was kinda half jogging down as it was really steep- and heard a rattle, looked down, squealed, leapt out of the way.....because I'd nearly just jumped on the end of a diamond back rattle snake (they're really poisonous), it was about 4ft long and had just slithered across the trail, at that point it just carried on slithering off and stopped rattling...photos are in the associated album. I also went climbing for the day which was AMAZING! Loved it. Was doing American difficulty rated 5:10s which were tricky but loved the day. Ive put just a couple of photos of one of the routes up. Definitely going to try to do more climbing whilst I'm in South America.
Went to Bryce Canyon after Zion. Pretty spectacular sight- canyon formed by rock weathered into strange formations. Found a dodgy looking rock formation which you can pick out from my photos. They do also seem to love the Brits there as there is also one dedicated to Queen Victoria as it apparently looks like her statue in Hyde Park in London....and there's another one that looks like Tower Bridge. Hours of entertainment.
I dont know if any of you know but Utah is also known for being a fairly religious state due to it's fairly large population of Mormons. On the way driving back to Vegas from there we did also stop at a local family shop and pharmacy which I found some extremely handy and interesting literature for anyone who is looking to start enjoying their life again and needs to give up porn. Dad did also thoroughly enjoy the local draft ale which was aptly named Polygamy Porter!
So from there we arrived on Vegas again for one final night. I managed to convince mum that happy hour by the pool was a good idea and we enjoyed several cocktails whilst listening to some bangin' hiphop beats courtesy of Johnny Mac the pool DJ (I have no idea who he is but he tried hard) before heading to see 'KA' by cirque du soleil which was hands down the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my entire life. The whole stage moved below the floor, they were climbing and spinning on wooden poles they were free running on this massive contraption, doing air acrobatics with no safety wires, there was a life size boat coming out of the stage....I won't go on but it blew my mind!!
