An indulgence and no need to order them but it was late at night and we had woken up at 6am from the sleeper train so really were hungry :) not really as all we did was enjoyed an amazing li river cruise :) These were pancake type fritters stuffed with mince and onion. Dipped them in my fish sauce. They vanished.

Drunken duck. Local speciality. Duck in beer with chilli and peppers. Somehow the chilli mild request escaped them :) served in a handy container to keep it warm. Another example of great chinese fire hot stir fry.

This was the speciality dish. Local river fish with a tomato and lemongrass sauce. Really tasty. We tried to get one portion but they served two. Far too much food.

I went for seasonal veg or the bok choi. It was perfectly cooked (as expected :)) and really garlicky (not expected). Delightful. We also had loads of fruit for breakfast so feeling like getting some vitamins again :)

We got a bamboo boat down the river. The most beautiful place I have ever been. The boatman kept making stops for general errands along the way which was v funny. Then he moored and made his hands into a bowl and started pretend scooping. We were sent to eat :) Place was like kindergarten. Tiny chairs and tables. Full of Chinese. Food again was really tasty.
