Arrived in Perth with monster hangovers after our big night out with Saz in Bangkok. So bad that we even had a Burger King on the way - eughhhh! ....to be met by the Mercers (Ronnie's family) which was absolute heaven, and put up in the spare bedroom which was SO CLEAN and a bathroom with the best shower I have ever had!! Yes, we had been neglected for a while. But no more - we ate Roz and Bruce out of house and home for the next few days and caught up on our sleep, then we hired a car and went down to Margaret River for some wine tasting. Came back laden with wine and had a big mother's day lunch before heading off (actually, they had to force us onto the plane) to Broome. Roz, Bruce, Shelley, Andrew - can we come back? The backpackers in Broome was minging, but the rest of our stay there was fab. We hired a 4WD and some swags and took off camping for a few days up in the middle of nowhere. It was a bit scary, but fantastic to be completely alone. Mike was the hunter gatherer (well, he got some wood), and I was the cook (i opened the screw top wine and BBQ'd the sausages). The sunsets were gobsmacking and the night sky even more so. Didnt want to leave, but we smelt a bit, so it's probably for the best that we made our way shower-ward.
