Back to Chapala today but this time got a lift with a couple of guys I met through working at the placement meaning that we could spend a bit longer mooching around. We rented a boat to go out across the lake just in time for sunset. Amazingly it was strikingly different to the sunset just a week before with beautiful dewy yellows and a huge melting orange sun, unlike the dramatic blue and purple cloud dominated landscape of before. The boat ride was dreamy with the sun setting behind us and the enormous expanse of the lake surrounding. Of course we took about a million and one photos to capture the essence as we watched the sun fuse into the landscape and take the rest of the day with it. After a wander down the length of the pier and a refreshing cup of watermelon sprinkled with salt and lime, we headed to the neighbouring village of Ajijic (a-he-heec I think it's pronounced) and sat in the square with ice creams and the town atmosphere, a welcome change from bustling city life.
