So now we were headed the right way back to Calgary. We decided to turn into Banff to get another Beavertail. (Sugar would improve Bret's mood) Driving into town there were two Caribou on the road. I said to Bret "Quick! Take a picture!!! He replied "Of what?" Clearly he worked it put in time but it was just great to see reindeer walking the streets. The beavertail was awesome and it was great to finally make it to the hotel.

This was my Peanut Butter Burger. Quite interesting. I thought I might as well try and it paid off. Quite a strange pub that was connected to the hotel. You had to go downstairs for the washrooms (that's the toilets here) and the urinals were giant sets of lips! Very classy *not*. When leaving Jasper the next day I had a bit of a freak out. Welcome to jasper. For some reason I don't know why I struggled to enjoy jasper. It might have been the long drive through amazing scenery to arrive in a town that was similar to Banff. I'm not sure. The hotel was pretty tired on the inside and it was disappointing as it was the most expensive on the entire trip. We decided to stop at Bow Lake. This is one of the prettiest places I have seen in all of Canada. It's fed by a glacier that then works its way through the mountains to run through the middle of Calgary. Just so beautiful and peaceful. Bret of course insisted on scaling the cliff and wading in the icy blue water. I decided it was better for my ankle if I didn't.

This is the view from the hot springs at Banff. It was a great chance to soak my ankle (which was aching a bit) and relax in the 40 degrees Celsius mineral springs with the majestic mountains in the background. Just lovely.
