This signature and narrative appears on the inside cover of a copy of "Robinson Crusoe" by Daniel Defoe. The book was awarded to Reuben Martin Shipton in 1877 as a prize for "Good Conduct & Regularity as a Server and Chorister at Holy Trinity Bordesley During 1877", being further evidence of what a good boy Reuben was.
