On the back of this photograph, Nora Livingston has written "Hamilton's Grandma". It is not possible to say whether this is maternal or paternal grandma. One additional clue is that the picture was taken in Liverpool by "Moorhouse Brothers, General Photographers" although both Hamilton's grandparents were born in Armagh, Northern Ireland. Hamilton's maternal grandmother was called Eliza S, (it might be her) but his paternal grandmother's name is not known at all, so if it is her she will remain anonymous. Working on rough estimates of a generation being 25 years, this lady might have been born around 1820, she looks about 55-60, so that would date the photograph at about 1875-1880. Either way, she's quite a looker, eh?
