Alright. Way ahead of the trip schedule and all over the place. Since we got ahead of ourselves we came out to San Jose to visit my Father, he's out here on business. Skydive Tahoe was decent, but there was no one there to really put up planes, so I only got one jump in. But it was a great view of Lake Tahoe, so that was cool. Interesting though, the landing area is enclosed by barb wire! Not a problem, easy to hit the field, but I would think that would be a definite concern for students learning to fly a canopy...
One thing I'm sure about, of all the DZ's I've hit so far, they've all been good in their own ways, but they don't compare to the Ranch! Sure Chicago probably has the nicest facilities I've ever seen at a DZ, but I just don't think anything can compare to the people, the character, and FOR SURE the experience you get at the Ranch. Pond Swoops are today, and that's one of my favorite events, so it sucks that I'm missing it. But I definitely can't wait to come back and see everyone there and jump with my friends again.
After the jump, we decided to head for the coast, it's been nice to just relax and visit for a day. Even did laundry, which was good and convenient.
Heading to a wedding in Tiburon, CA later today which should be interesting. College friend of mine, Jill, invited me to crash it and I figure why the hell not. So I'm hoping that is a good time, we'll see.
I may hang out tomorrow to watch the Bills game with my Father, otherwise it's off to Yosemite. Thursday Simpson is flying in to hit the Grand Canyon and Utah area, so that will be cool. Traveling with The Lady has been great as well. It almost feels like I'm in the home stretch... Southern California, Arizona, Utah, and Denver... Then it's a bee line East.
Seems like it's been a long and short trip all at the same time. One thing is for sure though, I can't wait to see Rachel. I love you pal!
