If you want to be bored - the rock was formed millons of years ago...it was origionall the end of a river flowing down from mountains hundereds of miles away - the river plateaud out and slowly left rock deposits from the mountains which everntually formed a giant table of rock. Theres more to it than that - it sounds boring, but when you see it, its hard to find an explanation for its being there!
