Hi everyone, Arrived in Laos yesterday and it's so beautiful, very strong French influence so lots of baguettes(Emma - you'd love it here!) and French pastries. Walked into a primary school this morning where there was a private party to welcome new teachers to the school and they invited me to join them for food and beer. They kept bringing me small glasses of beer and getting me to down them in one, must be a typical Laos custom. I drank several quite quickly but by 11.30am was starting to feel a bit sick so had to stop drinking for a while. Did some Laos dancing which involved walking slowly round in a circle waving my hands up and down - it was quite an experience and the warmth and hospitality of the Laos people was wonderful.
