23rd & 24th June 2008: Travelled to Rio Dulce, then taking a boat to our jungle lodge. Arrived a bit too late to go anywhere in the afternoon so just relaxed in the pool, rather than have a shower (as both the power and water have mysteriously disappeared). 21st & 22nd June 2008: Travel through Belize and into Guatemala. Staying on an island just outside Flores, on Peten Itza lake (I think anyway!). 1th & 20th June 2008: From Caye Caulker we've headed to central Belize, to a jungle lodge called Trek Stop. We're staying in little wooden huts surrounded by beautiful woods filled with all sorts of bugs and birds. 15th & 16th June 2008: Spent a couple of days at Plays del Carmen, a beach resort in Mexico. Most bars seem to have swings to sit on rather than seats which can only cause trouble when drink is involved! Relaxed on the beach swimming for the first day. Went to Tulum, some ancient ruins right next to the sea which are very pretty. Sound like a Mexican version of Stonehenge, with the temples aligned to the sun and moonrises in March and September.
