One word for today, steps, no two words, steep steps.........5-6 thousand of them, ALL downhill.....started off fairly easy then got more and more difficult. Lunch was a well deserved break, past a random electric pole with mobiles plugged on for recharging, in the middle of no where! By this point it was near on 40 degree heat so although a rest, a fairly hot one with limited shade, so glad to get going again with the thought of a campsite by the river in mind....

Last night I convinced myself that our campsite was straight from Friday 13th (each member of the group meets a horrific, usually bloody death in succession of the ugliest to the fittest) therefore everytime I went to the toilet (which was quite a lot considering the amount of water I drank) I thought an axe wielding murderer was going to get me - yes I am 37......Woke up to the most amazing view of the snow capped Himalayas and had tea and washing water delivere...

Today we started day 1 of our 6 day trek. The morning started with me realising I had left my sandals in Bandiphur and then the bus leaving without us! Had it not been for the group noticing myself and room mate Jo, weren't present we would have spent the next 6 days in Pokhara!! Now, considering I thought that by now we were all used to Nepalese transport and roads, this trip was a shock to the system. Picture the pimped up American cars that have hydraulic susp...

Today another 2.5 hour drive to Pokhara, not as comfy but just as interesting! Key highlights include dude with a cactus on the back of his bike and the "urban cows" who roam in the middle of the road in the towns. Pokhara is a typical backpacker haven with a deluge of different nationalities and skin plumpness (the more leathery the skin the longer time spent travelling) Had the best Paneer tikka (yes, will need 7 days trekking to burn off the billion calories...
