We got a boat from phi phi which took 3 hours to "reilly" beach (Krabi).it was low tide and we had to carry our backpacks knee deep over rocks. we walked to the east side but it was all resorts and too expensive so we desided to go to (Tonsai) which was only the next beach along but was separated by a cliff, the boat taxis were trying to charge us silly prices to go such a short distance so we again waded knee deep with backpacks around the cliff over slipery rocks, not easy in flip flops, but we did it,tonsai is the backpackers beach which gets cut off completly at high tied exept for a steep treking path over the cliff we found later where you have to run the gauntlet of hungrey fearless monkeys.Tonsai itself is breathtaking a small beach with bars and jungle surrounded by cliffs being climbed by climbers and bassjumpers and a few small islands offshore ,it reminded us of king kongs island. we found a bungalow in the jungle for 200baht it was good exept for the moskitoes which were everywhere.it is very nice and chilled, the bars were good ,the reggue bar having full moon and black moon partys.
one day we went over the cliff to "reilly west" beach, through a cave.it was the best beach we have been..........BEAUTIFUL.........we swam there and sunbathed all day .before going back we got some nuts for the monkeys...bad idea- they surrounded us ,they intimidated us into throwing the nuts on the ground, emma froze as i tried to tell her to follow me to safty.
we booked coach to go over Maylasian border to Kuala Lumpur
