I´m afraid I can´t give you too much info on the boat, although we did see the Bolivian Navy all two boats of it!!!
I am a bit more clued up on the bowler hats however! Apparently a london business man bought a job lot over to Bolivia but could not sell them as they were all too small for the Bolivian men!! He was very enterprising though and convinced all the Bolivian ladies they were the height of fashion in London so they all flocked to buy them and that is why they all wear Bowler hats!! Lots of useless information for discussion on a Thursday in the Patch!!
Brian & Lee
Just a quick note from Brian & Lee both stuck in Jackie McNealy's office(plenty of room) due to dodgy lap tops at home.
Looking out the window it is raining like mad, freezing cold and dark, bet you really miss it. Have a great time

Just had another look through your pictures and found someone in a bowler hat ..... just the job.

Hi El,
Just had my first look at your pictures and reports of your travels; seems you are getting about a bit. I didn't see any pictures of the people with little bowler hats, maybe they come from an area you haven't visited yet. I imagine your Dad would look good in one of those.
Boring bit coming up so skip it if you want to..... I see you went to Lake Titicaca. Did you see anything of the British ships that used to ply the lake? There used to be two of them and think one is still there somehere being restored. It was still running a few years ago. They were built in the 1860's I think and transported by sea, rail and eventually by pack animals to the lake and reassembled. It all took about six years. The boilers were fuelled with lama dung.
Boring bit over..... sorry, I have a nautical bent and can't resist an opportunity.
Good luck for your ongoing journey, have fun,
Mike

Hello mate, sounds and looks like your having an excellent time, hope you're not missing training too much. If you're away long enough, I might even be able to swim properly when you get back ... well, better anyway. Looks like I'm gonna have to be Kev's drinking partner at the social do then, hope we all don't feel as bad after last years ! Take care and have fun !
