This morning the girls and I woke up a little earlier and went for a nice long walk up the canal in Nancy! When we got back it was time to pack up and get ready to go to Switzerland! :) we went hunting for a patisserie before we left, but nothing was opened. The drive to Interlaken took about 5-6 hours. The views you see driving around the bending roads is amazing. You could sit and take it in for hours - it's big blue lakes with tall green mountains and snow covered tips at the very top! When we got here we went to the hostel we initially booked and that turned out to be a whole new adventure in itself. Our first impression of the building wasn't too great, but we went in and there was an old lady sitting in the door way, the place smelt like cat wee and there was cat ornaments and pictures everywhere! Her booking sheet was a handwritten piece of A4 paper and she had absolutely no idea we were coming and our room wasn't ready. She was trying to make us pay 195 Swiss frank for a 3 bedroom and the boys 79 for a room with no bathroom or toilet! We took this opportunity to find somewhere else to stay! We drive to the nearest carpark to go get money out, still with the option of staying with the crazy cat lady when we found 'The Happy Inn'. It was organised, clean, the price was clear and it had a bar below it! We booked our room and went out for dinner in this little Italian restaurant across the road. I had a ham, mushroom and tomato risotto - it was yummy! Erin and I treated ourselves to an ice-cream. When the man served Erin her cone cracked so he gave her two cones with her scoops separated, so she had to walk around with two ice-creams ha ha. After dinner we went for a nice walk around the town. The views are breath taking everywhere you look! Tomorrow we are going on a train up the mountain! I'm very excited! :)
