Last night I had a nightmare and woke up to what I thought was a dirty looking man in a khaki colored jacket, black pants and a small hat standing beside me! Either I'm going crazy or I've been to far to many museums about war or overwhelmed with history! I don't have any family that died in war over here that would come to visit do
I? Ha ha... Just kidding! After that little ordeal I had an amazing sleep and slept in until 11am! We all got up and got ready to leave for Brussels! I went down to the supermarket and bought myself some breakfast! For a full meal and water it cost 3€! We then got our train to Brussels which was only about 45minutes on the train! We walked to our motel and put our bags down before exploring - we were definitely in the ghetto of Brussels, but our hotel was really nice! In to the centre was only a 5 minute walk! We walked in and it was so pretty. The town square was beautiful! On tour everyone had been eating kebabs and apparently they were amazing, so I had a big craving for one!! The city was very multicultural full of all kinds of cultures especially Italians, Greeks and Muslims! It was perfect because I got my kebab and it was amazing! We walked around the town centre going in to all the chocolate shops and having free samples! We then went back to our hotel and Erin, Kate and I got all our clothes together and went to the laundromat! I washed mine and Simon's clothes (because I'm such a good girlfriend) ha ha :) Until you're living out of a backpack you will never truly appreciate the luxury of having clean clothes! Each week when I do my washing I'm so overly excited - it's the best feeling!! Once we were finished we went back to our room to get the boys for waffles ad pomme frites (hot chips which originates from Belgium, but you have them with mayo!) and they were not there! I was sure they must have been sleeping but we knocked and knocked and knocked and no answer! We assumed they must have gone in to town without us, some weren't too impressed as we had just done all the boys washing, but it turned out to be they went looking for us and went the wrong way which resulted in them returning to the hotel just after we'd left! They found Kate and I eating waffles in town! They were amazing! Simon isn't big on deserts and sharing mine wasn't enough - he got his own! After waffles we went and got a cone of chips with mayo to try - yummo! The only traditional dish I didn't try was Mussels in Brussels! It was starting to get dark and we really wanted to see the town square at night, so we walked up and sat and waited. When the lights turned on it was so beautiful! Well worth the wait! 1 more sleep and I'm off to the most romantic city in the world - Paris!! So incredibly excited!!
