This triple arched port is from Roman times and was once one of the gates to Reims which was said to have four entrances. Apparently named after the Mars temple which it near in the 3rd century AD. It was the largest arch in the Roman Empire in its time and probably still is because it is still standing1700 years later what a feat of construction.
