Cardiff - Bath, England - Stonehenge - London 21st June
We crossed the Severn Bridge into England. We stopped in the elegant Georgian city of Bath, famous for its Roman relics. We visited the Roman Baths which are below the modern street level. There are four main features: the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum holding finds from Roman Bath. The buildings above street level date from the 19th century. We also visited Bath Abbey. The city had pig statues everywhere which were King Bladuds pigs. These pigs were on display in the summer of 2008 and were all sold at auction. Then we visited Salisbury Abbey where there was a flower festival inside the abbey. The we headed for Stonehenge. We could not visit this site because it was the summer solstice festival and the roads were blocked with traffic. We had to bypass and return to London where our British tour ended.
We said our goodbyes to our fellow travellers and got a cab to the Novotel London St Pancras. On arrival at our hotel we checked in and then made our way to the London Eye. It was amazing seeing London at Night from the Eye. We walked along the waterfront or Southbank as it is known, entertained by the living statues and street entertainers. We passed the skiniest pub in London and visited St. Pauls Cathedral.
