Adelaide is smaller and much more laid back than Perth. The place I stayed in was a quaint older hotel - had a my own bathroom but separate down the hall from my large and comfortable room. Only 5 min walk to buses or 20 min or so to downtown where one could get the train to the beach - which was FABULOUS. The people are a lot nicer too!
I loved walking there - felt easy and safe. The wine tour to the Barossa was fabulous and the wine even more so. Treated myself to a reserve Bordeaux 3 blend reserve bootle which I had the next day at a restaurant overlooking the beach and another unbelievable sunset!
I went to the Adelaide Fringe Festival and went to a comedy act - he was so funny although relatively unknown. Had a lot of fun at the grounds with the different foods (Hogs on Fire) and so many different types of acts you could just walk into - the dress was crazy too! On the way downtown to eat, ran into a couple that were on my Perth to Adeleaide train AND the Barossa wine tour - what coincidence! Had a fun and lovely dinner facing the street - so good!
What was the best - there was an upcoming election so the signs for election were incredible - see the pictures - the one about the 'Stop Population Growth Now' party - can you imagine that in Canada - may be my next project - haha.
I would visit here again for sure!
