We arrived at 11:30am or so. Missed the flight to Kilimanjaro but as it turned out - because I dished out another $220Cdn for an economy 'plus' seat, I was near the front of the plane. Not only did I have a more comfortable flight with no one beside me, when I de-planed, I was able to find help before the mad rush of nervous and cranky passengers. The lovely women helping me showed me that KLM had already re-booked the tickets so I leave today at 8:30pm, arriving at the Kilimanjaro airport at 9:30am, a far more civilized hour in a strange country! I let the place I am staying know so there will be a person to pick me up, holding my name up.
The Amsterdam airport is organized, clean and easy to get around….English offered everywhere. I emailed and called my family, ate, found a place to crash for a couple of hours (now feel human), and now am charging my phone and computer in the 'Library' that is offered here - nice!
Lessons - sometimes better not to be cheap and sometimes while it may feel things are going wrong, they are actually going very right!
