Leaving Tanzania we descend through scenic mountain passes to our lakeshore camp at Chitimba. Set on a golden sandy beach amongst banana palms and papaya trees, our accommodation for the night is surrounded by the famous Livingstonia and Nyika mountains.

Left at 5:30am as it will be a very long day - 13 hours. We drive through the mountains and the 'bread basket' of Tanzania. Green, lush and prosperous - they grow potatoes, beans, cabbage, corn, bananas, pineapple, tea and Arabic coffee. It rains here much more so no lack of food and water thus, the shelters are nicer!

The campsite is nice and I am able to upgrade - yah! The beach is nice but fairly far from the buildings - no time to swim, leaving tomorrow am at 7:30am.
