Chiang Mai
We already wrote about the trekking we did from Chiang Mai but the
town itself is also a great place to be. I'm sure it is not the real Asia
but it is a major travellers hub/hangout for the north of Thailand.
They have it all here; markets, international restaurants, nightclubs,
live music bars, the lot. People are very friendly and everyone talks
about their trip so far or their next plan but most people just stay
there because it is such a great place to be. It reminds a bit of
Barcelona but then Thai style and without the sea of course.
Very laid-back, great for chilling and going out and an international
crowd of people who want to have a good time. Check the pictures to get an idea.
We stayed four nights and are kind of sorry to leave but Laos is
waiting!. We take a flight to Luang Prabang to save 3 days travelling
overland. We fly with Lao Airlines who indicates on their website not
to trust the timetable (and the planes?). Wish us luck and speak to
you on the other side. Ciao.
