Another 400 miles down I-55 - almost 7 hours on the road to finally reach New Orleans. The last hour is a very unique ride, 55 becomes a floating highway over a huge swamp between two lakes. At this point of our trip, we've driven the entire Interstate 55, about 1000 miles from Chicago to New Orleans. We land in the middle of the French Quarter and immediately fall in love with the narrow streets, architecture, colors and balconies… it felt just like Europe....

Memphis was only a 4.5 hour drive from St Louis, the longer we spend on the road the faster time goes by when we're driving. The city's skyline isn't very impressive, but their BBQ food and bar scene more than make up for it. Our first stop in the city was Huey's bar, where they recommended us to hit up a local's favorite BBQ joint - Central BBQ. Woke up to another windy morning in Chicago, picked up a cup of Intelligentsia coffee, two BECs, and hopped on I-55 south towards St Louis. A few miles into our drive we came across a wind farm owned by Iberdrola. We got off the interstate and drove up next to one of these power monsters, these things are huge. We didn't stop again until we reached the Gateway to the West! It is pretty impressive to drive over the MLKing Bridge and see a massive metal arch next...

Last night we went out to a few bars in Wicker Park, there's actually a place called Crocodile that gives you a free personal pan pizza with the purchase of a beer! Needless to say, the scene was great. Today we had an awesome brunch at Bakin' & Eggs and then we took the Architecture Foundation River Tour. This city is so windy I had to buy a sweater!! We finally made it to Chicago!! 13 hours of driving felt a lot longer than we thought. We didn't get to enjoy the views of PA since we drove thru it at night. Ohio and Indiana were no fun either, the most memorable part of the trip was lunch at Steak n Shake in Indiana. Also, if you find yourself driving thru either one of these states make sure your iPod is fully charged, all we found on the radio was country music and 80's hits! Now we get to hang out in Chicag...
