We are on the road again after spending three days at Kings Creek Station just out of Kings Canyon.Sorry there was no messages from us but there was no phones Tv's or internet so it was a quiet few days and we got a lot of reading done.We were staying on a working cattle ranch which also had camels which you could pay to go riding on and also quad bikes which you could also pay to ride on and also helicopter rides. It was great ther you each had your own little spot in the bush and a spot where you could have a campfire if you wanted it as well.
We both wanted to do the rim walk at Kings Canyon but I am afraid that I had to give up and concede defeat,I got halfway up the hil and could'nt go any further I just couldn't breath and a;so the sheer height got to me and I felt physically sick so We came back down and just did the lower walk, and Bruce went back the next day and did the rim walk. He did really well and said that even he struggled to finish it so there was no way that I could have done it,the walk usually takes about 5 hours so I am sort of glad that I gave up.
We are now heading back down the Stuart Highway,we did nearly 500 km today and are staying at Marla which is just over the border in South Australia. We are staying behind a roadhouse but it really nice here and they even have a supoermarket attached to the roadhouse so we have been able to stock up on some supplies. We are hoping to make it to Glendambo tommorrow which is about 200km south of Coober Pedy.

Maki made me kinda sad; that you claim that Low carb caused your ainmea. I have to comment on that because that statement might confuse others and has a bit of misinformation/confusion. I don't know exactly what your doctor told you about it, but a low carb diet that included iron rich red meats and vegetables( not just low fat chicken and fish which are not high in iron) would not cause ainmea. There may have been some issue of hereditary ainmea, or your body, for some reason unrelated to diet, was unable to absorb iron normally, or maybe you weren't getting enough Vitamin C or some other mineral, to process the iron in your diet. Maybe you were still menstruating and tend to lose a lot more iron than normal or maybe you weren't eating enough iron rich foods like red meats, organ meats like liver, and dark leafy greens like spinach, beets and kale. Many people will eschew red meats because of the fat-fear and don't eat their iron from other plant sources and besides that animal heme-iron is much more easily absorbed in the intestines than plant non-heme-iron. So low carb diets are NOT a poor source of dietary iron as was claimed and as such are not likely the CAUSE of a person's ainmea. I don't disagree that a balanced diet is a good thing but enriched bread is not the cure for ainmea, it is the extra Iron ( and maybe vitamin C) added to that grain food product that helped. Iron supplementation doesn't have to be via high glycemic carbohydrates. Low carb lifestyles can include healthy low glycemic grains like quinoa, barly and bulger, and vitamin C rich Low GI foods like berries, tree fruits and citrus. Low carb Lifestyles don't have to be imbalanced. It's how we choose our foods and plan our menus that balances or unbalances any diet(and I mean diet as in the foods we regularly choose to eat every day )I have Leanne's saving dinner Low Carb Book that was written with you in mind and I tell people about it all the time because it is a good example of a balanced low carb menu that everyone can enjoy. It is not imbalanced just because it is lower carb than SAD (Standard American Diet) There are many reasons why a person may become anemic, but it is unlikely that a red meat rich, dark vegetable dense diet is the cause. Other than that, I listened to the other things you have to say and it was very nice and helpful. YOU have helped me and lots of other people and I really appreciate you being out there for us. The advice you have about confort food and living in the past are very inspiring. I am dealing with my own issues of house clutter and mental clutter, physical body clutter is not as much an issue, (I've been following a lower carbohydrate lifestyle and have avoided the weight gain that I see in other family members my age) but I struggle with mental body clutter in still thinking that my body and my lifestyle is still not good enough and feeling rejected by my family because my personality and lifestyle is so different from theirs. Your voice is the one that encourages me, even when others make fun of that flylady stuff . Your podcasts are what helps me get through the hard-to-start blocks and get to working on my home and loving myself more. You are helping me to be my own person, and to care more about my happiness and the happiness of the people who love me than what other disapproving people might think. so Thank you for all you do![]
