A quick blog from Lisa again...
Well our holiday in Darwin is drawing to an end and we fly out at 6:30am tomorrow. We've had a fantastic time and we really don't want to leave. It's the sort of town that grows on you from the day you arrive. The weather has been perfect every day, the food is exceptional, beautiful sunsets, plenty to see and do...just perfect!
We went into the city yesterday to watch the V8 supercars truck convoy go through the streets. They are quite amazing rigs up close. There was also a chance to meet the drivers and get autographs etc so we made the most of this opportuntiy and got up close and personal with our favourite driver, Craig Lowndes. He was more than happy to pose for a couple of happy snaps and sign a few posters for us.
The rest of the day was spent resting. Corey caught up with an old school friend from Winchelsea, so he was pretty excited to see him again.
Friday we decided to go out to Hidden Valley Race track to watch the V8 practice sessions. It's a great track out there and it's a multi sport complex, so it boasts quite a few different tracks, drag strip etc all at the same place. It's not a huge track but with a few tight turns it looks to be quite challenging and I'll look forward to seeing it on tele this weekend...GO LOWNDES!!!
