24th - Another early start so we could get to Caye Caulker at a decent time. We drove to Belize City and got a taxi boat to the island which took about 45 mins. It´s a tiny wee island and you can see the ocean on both sides of it which is really cool.
We got straight into our bikinis when we got there as the weather was brilliant. We went to this bar at the end of the island where you can sit in the lovely warm water while drinking the speciality drink´The Panty Ripper´!! It basically consists of a LOT of rum and not much more. They went down very very nicely. Me, Ang, Steve and Robin went a walk along the beach to a pier and watched the sun set. It was absolutely gorgeous and was gutted that I didn´t have my camera.
The four of us went out and got some dinner, while the drink may be quite expensive here the food is cheap. We got a full lobster with sides for a tenner!! It was amazing. It´s nice not to be eating Mexican food as well. Didn´t really do much else, went for a walk then went to bed. Was meant to be a free day tomorrow and Ang and I were going to watch Celtic play in the Champions league, we even managed to find a pub who said they would play it but now we need to go snorkelling!! Not happy
25th - So today we were taken out to some coral to go snorkelling. It was really amazing, we saw sting rays, turtles which I managed to touch, numerous colourful fishes and a shark (which I didn´t touch!) We went to three different spots and had lunch in San Pedro one of the other islands which is a bit bigger and more built up than Caye Caulker. Lunch was amazing! It was a big basked of all different bits of breaded fish and fries. I really am eating far too much but the food is just sooo good plus I need to make up for when I wasn´t well!!
Went out for a few drinks that night, I ended up not having any dinner cause was still so full from lunch. Went back to the lazy lizard and had a few more panty rippers, wish my panties were getting ripped ha ha! Went a nice walk and had a look at the stars again. Steve seems to like the stars as much as me and Ang like tiger balm. Tiger balm is amazing, it totally stops your mozzie bites itching. We were getting totally slagged for going on about it but now everyone is asking to use it all the time! Anyway didn´t drink too much (something wrong I think, that´s more than one night off!
26th - Today is our last day in Caye Caulker. Will be sad to leave it, the place is so chilled out and so are all of the people on it. It´s a true carribean island, could definitely stay here a bit longer. Just sunbathed for a while then went back to the lazy lizard. There is just something so right about sitting in the water drinking (alcohol obviously) when the sun is blazing down.
Went for more lobster as it is our last nigth. Not a very eventful night as we are leaving early tomorrow for another long trip. I was absolutely shattered so just wend to bed early, hopefully night time things will pick up again when we get to Playa Del Carmen!!
Adios Amigos.
