Road Trip: Highway 1 - San Francisco to Los Angeles

After a four day break from driving I had to quickly get used to driving (yet again!). Having successfully managed to navigate our way out of San Francisco's one-way streets and hills we continued onto Highway 101. Once we made it out of the city we joined the famous Highway 1, enjoying the amazing coastal scenary and hill-side driving (Dad you'd be proud!!) of Santa Cruz, Monterey and Monterey Bay. From here we carried on the long and windy but very picturesque route down the Big Sur to San Luis Obispo. Here we rejoined Highway 101, taking in the sights of Santa Barbara on the way to LA (where we very quickly got lost in the maze of freeways and traffic!!). Eventually we made it out alive and in the right place, and finally arrived at our hostel, exhausted after 11 hours on the road!
