Rich's Travels
Vietnam Halong bay and Sapa (29/1 to 5/2)
Earlystart for an 8am departure to Halong Bay. We Bordered our boat, a stylish 12 seater on a cloudy afternoon and set sail for the Bay. Two hours into the Journey the boat broke down. We waited for 2 hours for another boat to tug us to our destination. Went ashore and climbed one of the limestone peaks for panoramic views across the beach. In the evening tucked into a nice vietnamese meal followed by a few beers in the bar. The following day we set off on some kayaking for two hours in the morning into some caves. In the afternoon we arrived at our very own desert island where the crew whipped out a table and chairs and we tucked into lunch on the island followed by some swimming.
Arrived back in Hanoi at 5pm on the first of feb and grabbed some dinner before boarding the overnight train to Sapa for trekking around some hill tribe villages. This trip was the best 3 days of our journey so far where we met lots of tribes people including the Mong and Zao and spent a night in one of the villages.
