then we wnet to LIvorno where we had a campsite for a
week. RIGHT on the ocean... so beautiful!!! It was a campsite called Miramare with a small tent spot and a wooden balcony overlooking the ocean. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful spot! The beach had lots of rocks but we rented beach chairs for (EIGHT EUROS) so expensive!.. A few of the days which was really nice! There was also a restaurant on the campsite that was really delicious. We ate pizza there a lot and had one nice dinner with mussels and crab. Ha its pretty funny how much I talk about the food!! We had great sunny weather
until the last night there was HUGE storm.. pretty scary! The "telephone" wires were buzzing really loud and the wind was crazy!! Especially
being in a tent! But we survived!! The last night w were there we met some really nice people that took us out to dinner! Nico, was from Livorno and 2 of his girl friends were visiting him from Poland. One of the girls, kate, could understand and speak english pretty well but her friend, Barbara couldnt understand much at all. We had all of the dictionaries on the table for the whole dinner. It was pretty entertaining!! He took us to his friend Paulo's restaurant and they treated us to an AMAZING Italian dinner. The plates just didn't stop coming!! We had pickled mullets ( sounds gross but SO good), octopus, fries fish, bread, pasta, salmon, etc. (some stuff were still not quite sure what it was, but we ate it!) they showed us around the town for a little bit then we headed back to the campsite. Huge storm, then the next day we headed to the train station. We met a really nice family that was camping next to us and the dad offered to drive us to the train station. Saved us such a big headache!
