Tuesday saw us wake to sunshine with a fog bank on the horizon! We decided to walk into town following the coast road. Great views across the Juan De Fuca Strait, to fog and the USA Rockies, still with some snow on the high peaks. Oh wow! What a wonderful first day we've had here in Canada. Having arrived at Vancouver airport last night at 2pm local time, we somehow managed to stay awake until about 6pm (that's 2am the next day according to our body clocks and follows an early morning start to Manchester airport) so an early start this morning was easy. We're off! Last minute crises? The Nodding Dog Insurance Company changed its mind and said no house guests with two days to go! Sorted! Jill in melt down over the insurance. Sorted! Luggage weighs too much - of course. Sorted! This really is the start of our amazing trip. We are excited to be on our way.

It's Sunday and we are now counting down to the start of what we hope will be many retirement adventures. A week today we fly to Vancouver, the first rather big step in our 3 month trip. Watch this space!
